TRUE BEAUTY

Everyone has a definition for beauty. Many believe it’s your appearance, where you put on multiple layers of products, however that’s not true beauty. Did you know that; not even twins, have the same eye pattern? According to The Urban Dictionary, “…Beauty is who you are in your heart. How you look, can and will change. But the person you are can never change, unless you allow it to be changed. The person you are on the inside defines who you are and that makes you pretty or ugly.” So, the true definition of true beauty is character, both (mostly)inside or out.

The beauty standard for most people is usually blond hair, blue eyes, skinny body, being muscular etc. Yet, many men and women come in different shapes, sizes, and forms. So why is there a standard? Why are women and men everyday feeling ashamed because they can’t reach that standard. Sometimes at most, it’s creates insecurity. This isn’t they're fault . It’s the fault of society. Many popular influencers are seen as beautiful for being the beauty standard. You could consider them lucky. People are of all ages and sizes ; obsess ,over weight, waist length, height, etc. and that should not undermine them from being beautiful.

Character is the way you act; your behavior. True beauty is skin deep. It’s the way you interact with one another and the characteristics that make you special. These traits could be kindness, patience, love, forgiveness etc. Your character defines you. Nobody but yourself can define who you are. Kahlil Gibran once said, ”Beauty is not in the face; beauty is a light in the heart.” Your true beauty can be the way you laugh, the way you smile, and the way your face glows up like a million fireworks. So, true beauty acts as your behavior to loved ones, strangers, and everyone else around.

So, how do we deal with outer and inner beauty?

Outer beauty can and will be change over time. Though, it doesn’t matter if others accept your outer beauty what matter is if you accept it as you put your hard work into it. You were born with your body and you get to feel comfortable in your own skin. If you feel confident wearing make up, then do it. If you don’t, then keep it natural. It’s all up to you. It’s your body, your choice. So if you feel like wearing shorts and a crop top, don’t be afraid to do it. If you feel like going to the grocery store in your pajamas, then go ahead and do it. As long as you are comfortable and confident in your body, then you can be the truest for beauty.

Inner beauty can be changed over your own free will. Your character defines you as a person. It’s what makes your soul special. It doesn’t matter if people think you're kind or arrogant. You define yourself. Your behavior reflects on your soul and determines where you go in the afterlife depending on your religion. I encourage you to be the best possible person you can be. Mostly, the true beauty I see in many people is kindness, patience, and fairness.

What does true beauty mean to you? Is it your appearance? Your character? My true beauty in my character, it is my morals and values. I believe so much in trust. I believe you must treat others like you would want to be treated. I believe that being human, making mistakes, overcoming them, and making me be the most me everyday can set your soul free into a world of happiness. True beauty is within all of you. Sometimes you just need to find a key to unlock it. Remember, we are all beautiful.
