THE THING ABOUT NIGHTMARES

A tired boy comes through the door...

He lazily falls on his bed and takes out his diary. His dream diary. In it, he has his dreams and nightmares. However, lately he has been getting nightmares daily, to the point where he is scared to fall asleep. He gave it a try though. He is not one to miss his sleep schedule. He closed his eyes in hopes of a peaceful slumber.

---

12:37am.

It's midnight and so far he has not been able to get a dream...perhaps the worst is yet to come...

1:46 am

His dream started

--------

2:30 am

This could be the worst out of all the ones he had. So bad that he can't even wake up from it.

3:00 am

It's to late. He is to consumed by his nightmare. His gruesome voices now in shape of a monster, his fears now his setting and the downfall as his plot.

3:50 am

The peak of his horror movie. His life slowly getting sucked. His body paralyzed and shortened breath.

8:00 am

Everyone is awake now. Kids off to school and parents going to work, except for one boy. His alarm going off and sun shining through the window. Yet he still can't wake up. Perhaps he himself is keeping himself from waking up.

9 pm

He missed work and his phone has many missed calls from his boss and friends. His friends were suspicious on why he wasn't lifting up his phone so one went to check on him.

9:15 pm

His friend arrived at his place.

"Yo what are you doing sleeping?" He said as he slightly shook him.

"Yo wake up our boss is so mad at you."

"DUDE! WAKE UP!" His friend was starting to get worried. He checked his breathing. He was still alive. He called the ambulance. Everything happened so quickly. His friend going to the hospital, sirens echoing and panic everywhere.

(3 weeks later)

Although the boy was still alive. The doctors came to conclusion that he would never wake up.

(1 month later)

"Everyone should stay at their homes and minimize touching of anybody and anything. Make sure you wear gloves as well." The news reporter says for the fifth time. The friend who is remencing in his thoughts of his friend "Dying" in his sleep, suddenly catches his attention on the screen. It's been 2 days since he slept. His eyes were dark like he was studying for finals and bloodshot like a girl dumped him for a retarded. All because of his friend.

(2 months later)

"Everyone should isolate themselves as the plague has spread everywhere. Leading on the charts is America with over 1 million "deaths" so far. This plague is leaving people trapped in their worst fears forever. Please also make sure that you minimize touching your family and friends and always wash everything.

(3 months later)

"The plague has gone worse as now we are forced to lock ourselves in our homes. Cases have also went "viral" all around the world making citizens more nervous and scared." The reporter said.

(4 months later)

"It is official that companies and businesses have gone down making people lose jobs. The worse thing is, is that we don't know how this started and spread."

(5 months later)

"It is reported that deaths have been going through the roof as people have begun not sleeping for weeks! Population has been drastically falling and to top it off coffee and energy drink sales are out of this world!"

You have a alleyway in your mind. That is a tunnel to your dreams. The tunnel that you didn't know was real.

Don't worry. Everything is fine. Nothing will happen.

Come on! Come in! It's not like you aren't sucked in already.

In a matter of time this Earth will be filled with soulless living beings who are laying on the floor alive. Why not join them? You're going to be alone anyways. I'm not evil, no no don't think that. It's just me, your voice in your head telling you what's right. You may think I'm evil but I'm just telling you what's right.

.

..

...

You're one of them now.
