Emily', whispered Pearl , 'this isn't a place for you because a D.U.F.F!!! can't be made Queen. The Prince upon seeing you would hurl, or even have a heart-attack' ..... Hahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!,everyone laughed in unison. Prince Evan of the Pitcher Kingdom was soon to be crowned King after his father King Gerald passed away in an accident. But for Prince Evan to ascend the throne, he needed to find a companion ;a wife and soon to be Queen. In his quest to find a befitting partner, Royal Guard Antony came up with an idea " Your Majesty, why don't you organize a contest, so the town folks can part take and there you'll choose your Queen. ' That isn't a bad idea either, but I'll think about it and let you know my decision. Said the Prince. Emily, was a village girl of about 22years.She owned a farm her late father had left her; from that she earned her daily income and did a little charity with. She usually visited orphan homes to distribute food items, clothing and a few learning materials. She had a spirit of helper and gave assistance to anyone who came her way in need of it. She was though beautiful, a girl who never had a taste for fancy cloths or make overs. She wore what she felt comfortable with. BRRRRRIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNGGGGGGGG!!, An alarm clock clanged and Emily was awaken to a beautiful sunny morning with birds flying up the sky. As usual, she went round feeding the animals on her farm and moved to irrigating her crops, after she took her horse for a ride..Â
'Help me!!, someone help!! help!, a voice from amongst the bushes, Emily thought for while and went out to help. She was shocked to find a young man tangled amongst the hedges being tied to a horse in muddy clothes. "Lemme help you " she said and helped him entangle himself. 'My house isn't far from here maybe you can have shower and eat something, you must have been here for days, you smell awfully bad' . 'Definitely ,'said the man. Emily walked him to her house ,he had shower and later ate the food she had prepared for him. Emily was outside singing to her cat, when the man walk up to her .For the first time ,she noticed how he was well built ,muscular and handsome .....that got her a bit shy. 'Hey ,you're okay now right ,I'm Emily.' She said , 'oh yes! I am and thank you', he chuckled '' I'm Dennis......, 'Nice to meet you and never say thank you ,it wasn't anything extraordinary I did.' she said . 'okay, so how can I repay you' . She laughed, ' repay me, no...and oh yes! You should, by repeating an act of kindness'  'Okay, I promise and I'll take leave now' They bid goodbye and he left.
One day, Prince Evan called out to Antony, "let's organize this so-called contest, but make sure to give Emily, the town's farmer a special invite".
The contest came off with twelve finalist. The finalist were supposed to stay in the Castle for 12 days and after critical examinations the Royal suitor would select one for the Prince.
Royal Guard Antony called out to them; Caroline, Agnes, Berty,.................,Pearl and finally Emily. The place suddenly went numb and everyone murmured their thoughts. From the crowd Emily heard "Who is that girl, she's soo ugly", "That's a nerd" oh goodness, Pearl turned to her direction and whispered something in her hears but it seems everyone heard what she said and laughed. Emily felt sedated and went out crying......... "Get her to the Palace" ordered the Royal Guard Antony "Now you girls should follow suit and get to the Palace. After the 12days, there was a grand occasion for the selection of the Prince's Bride ,people of all walks of life attended ,with Kings and Queens also attending. After dancing and enjoying  some meals, it was time for the Royal Suitor to reveal the soon to be Queen. She walked up to the microphone..."UUhhhmmmm, good evening everyone, it's been several months since the passing away of our beloved King Gerald, may his soul rest in peace and for a new king to ascend the throne, I, the royal suitor after several consideration and critical analysis of the twelve finalist hereby declare the soon to be Queen as Pearl, she's beautiful, bold and outspoken " claps and applause from all over. "Royal Suitor I must object!!,but the woman I yarn to be with isn't Pearl" shouted Prince Evan. "I found the one, she's beautiful inside-out, appearance isn't all I seek. During their twelve day stay here, I found a new definition for beauty, good heartedness despite rejection by all, she was confident, bold, not discriminative. Everyone who knows her too well loves her and I also fell in love for who she is beneath looks, and make over. She's a woman of substance , a philanthropist who saved my younger brother Dennis' life without asking for returns, so upon request by my junior brother I choose this woman though she's not a the beauty standard, she's beautiful by just being her self. She's Emily, my soon to be queen.
