I wear my faces, and masks of beauty But by reality, I was deceived I reached out, hoping you’d notice But you never seemed to see It was like I was a shadow That always fell behind Inside the darkness, there’s pieces of me That I will never find I wore my masks, faked a smile To be someone I can’t be And through the many faces I tried I lost that piece of “me” So many costumes, and now I don’t Remember who I was before But becoming who you truly are Is not putting on one more It’s taking off all the veils To what lies underneath For you will still be hidden there Where the disguises cannot reach So I hope when I show who I am I’m still the same in your eyes Because, I know you’ll find true beauty When you see who I am inside
