She has jewels that shine in pristine light

of diamonds and silver and gold

she wanted more amethysts, despite

the thousands she beholds

She has dresses of the finest silk

the tresses of lavish lace

they caress her skin of whitest milk

hair in spirals around her face

But after all this? She wanted more

jewels and dresses not enough

a thousand dresses strewn across the floor

and tears tracked her cheeks because

There are some things that money can’t buy

space in her heart dresses can’t fill

whether it be friendship, or a love to the sky

and she’s searching for it still
