A NIGHT TOGETHER

A lovely starlit night,

Me alone with thee

after a live-long day of our ambition

It is our night of explicit action

The bird of the night hoots and shrieks

And with thee, I hunt the night

Our bodies conjuring with light,

we move out of reach of our emotion

But never till 12'0 clock;

I mean never till tonight

did I go through a tempest dropping fire

The world's too saucy with the gods

But this night together

would I reminisce in memory forever.
